Humanitarian Aids

Other donations and assistance

Daw Khin Kyi Foundation donates and provides assistance mainly in four areas by helping people affected by disaster relief during emergency, providing assistance to schools and students, rural development, and internally displaced people.

Disaster relief

Myanmar suffers different kind of disaster annually, especially flood due to tropical storm that brings strong wind and heavy rain. Heavy monsoon rains have caused flood and landslide in States and Regions throughout the country especially during rainy season starting from June up to September in a year, leaving many people damaged houses, many villages damaged buildings including schools. Many people have to be evacuated and farmland has been damaged every year. Daw Khin Kyi Foundation helps people in humanitarian need in affected areas with essential materials for disaster relief such as food, purified water, medicine and kitchen utensils.

Helping schools and students

Although our society values the importance of education, the educational standard in our country lags behind the developed world. Our schools need qualified teachers, good resources and materials for our children to learn at schools.  Daw Khin Kyi Foundation donates books for schools’ libraries and textbooks and exercise books for elementary students studying especially in remote areas. We built school buildings, latrines and libraries for schools. We provide some school furniture. Sometimes, we provide food and water purifiers for students. Sometimes we donate boats for students who have to take waterways daily to attend schools.

Assistance for rural development

People living in the rural areas facing a variety of hardship have been struggling to get out of the poverty for years. Lacking proper infrastructure is one of their main difficulties to improve their wellbeing.

Daw Khin Kyi Foundation, despite limited capacity and funding, helps those that make efforts to develop their own communities with available resources at hand. We donate transformer for villages. We dig deep water wells and build village roads, village halls and libraries. And we renovate some buildings such as drug rehabilitation centers that help the society to heal its social damage.

Assistance to Internally Displaced People

Myanmar is still under the peace process and armed conflicts are still taking place in some remote areas where our ethnic nationalities are residing. As consequences, people left their homes and fled to safer places. Most of them have to live in temporary shelters or religious buildings before they could go back home. Daw Khin Kyi Foundation provides some essential materials, kitchen utensils and food to them to be used during their temporary stay.
